Semester Updates for Faculty

Fall 2025

Greetings Faculty,

As we are all getting into the swing of the semester, I wanted to provide some Waggoner Library updates and reminders.

Library Support for Faculty & Students

  • Librarians are here to support you and your students. We offer a variety of ways for you to contact us. In addition, we offer tutorials and Meet with a Librarian appointments.
  • We also have a librarian liaison program. Your liaison is your contact for library questions and for one-time library purchase requests (print books, eBooks, videos), which should be submitted with your dean's or chair's approval.

Technology & Equipment Checkout

  • We have 26 laptops for three-hour, in-library use and about 20 “long-term” laptops (semester checkout). All require a borrowing agreement and are first-come, first-served. Updates to availability or checkout terms may be coming soon. * Currently, all long-term laptops are checked out, but you or your students are welcome to check with the library to see if one is available when needed.
  • Our growing Gadget and Technology Collection, funded primarily by Trevecca Giving Day, includes adapters, cables, chargers, media players, filming and photography accessories, and more. Some items are for in-library use, while others can be checked out for longer periods.

Study & Meeting Rooms

  • The library has 13 study rooms (each with a whiteboard wall), 4 graduate study rooms that are also available to faculty, a mediascape room, and an Online Interview Room. All can be reserved online. Keys for the graduate rooms, mediascape room, and Online Interview Room are checked out at the Library Services Desk, where whiteboard markers and supplies can also be checked out. All rooms are on the 2nd (top) floor except the Online Interview Room, which is on the ground floor.
  • The Dunn Conference Room (2nd floor, 14 seats) can be reserved in Outlook by departmental administrative assistants. The Library Instruction Room (26 seats) is primarily used for library instruction but can be booked for one-time events through Ad Astra. Laptops for use in this room are available to be checked out at the Library Services Desk. Both rooms utilize Microsoft Teams technology.

Additional Information & Updates

  • For the safety of students and employees, library front doors require ID card access after 5:00 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends, with exceptions for special event days such as Homecoming. The door between admissions and the library on the ground floor of the building requires an ID card for access at all times.
  • For textbook or mailroom questions, please direct students to Slingshot (tnu@slingshotedu.com) within the library building rather than to library staff. We appreciate your help in guiding them to the right place and reducing confusion.
  • This year, the Waggoner Library building turns 25! We're planning a special celebration during Homecoming to mark the milestone. Stay tuned!
