Using the App within Canvas

Steps to Access the App Tool

Steps to Access the App Tool in Canvas

  1. Log into your Canvas account
  2. Select a course
  3. Open the 'Modules' section
  4. Select the section you want to add library content and Click the + icon in the section title box on the right side of the page. Now you have choices. 

To add a page to a section: 

  • In the Popup box click the down arrow and choose, 'Page'
  • Choose '[Create Page]'
  • Name the page
  • Click the purple 'Add Item' button
  • When the blank page opens, click the edit icon to make changes
  • On the rich content editor, select the 'plug' 
  • icon.  If you don't see it, click the  icon to show more options. This opens all apps. Click 'View All"
  • Scroll down and select 'Waggoner Library Resources'
    • Content Type - Full Guide
    • Guide - Locate and select the guide you want to embed
    • Guide Page - Select the first one on the list - may say Home, Welcome, Start Here
    • Click the blue Embed Content button.
  • The full guide will be embedded as a page in the Canvas section. Note: In the Modules list, the guide page can be moved if needed. 

To add into an Assignment 

  • Navigate to the assignment
  • Click to edit
  • Choose where you want the library content to be added - at the end typically
  • On the rich content editor, select the 'plug' icon.  If you don't see it, click the  icon to show more options. This opens all apps. Click 'View All"
  • Scroll down and select 'Waggoner Library Resources
    • Content Type - Single page 
    • Guide - Locate and select the guide you want to embed
    • Guide Page - Select the specific page you want
    • Click the blue Embed Content button.
  • The single guide  page will be embedded into the assignment content.
