Uploading Full Text From Saved Files

If you already have documents saved to your computer

  1. Begin in your RefWorks Account
  2. Select the document you want to add full text
  3. Click the pencil icon on the edit window, the right side of the screen
  4. Either drag and drop the file into the Add Attachment line
  5. or Click to browse your computer to upload
  6. Be sure to save after the document has uploaded. 

RefWorks and Full Text

You can upload the full text of articles, dissertations, Office files, images, reports, videos and other types of documents. Adding the full text gives you complete access to all your research in one place.


Steps to follow as you are using the databases:

  1. On the result list in a database, download the PDF full text of the article. Save it to your desktop.
  2. If you have not done so, export the citation from the database into RefWorks.
  3. In your RefWorks account select the citation for the PDF you just downloaded to your desktop and click the pencil to open the edit window.

4. Then scroll down to where you can add an attachment. Now upload a saved PDF or Word doc of your article.

5. Finally, be sure you click SAVE at the bottom of the screen so the full text will be added.
