There are all kinds of ways to determine database usage. You can measure how many times a particular database is used to search. You can measure how many results come back that match search terms (investigations)  or you can measure how many of those items are unique. You can measure how many of those results are satisfactory enough for the user to select them to read more about them (item requests) and how many of those are unique matches. This table shows the leaders in all of those areas.
