Multidisciplinary Databases as a source 

A database is an online resource subscribed to by the library. Your access is because you are an enrolled student at Trevecca. They are the places to find peer-reviewed articles

Follow these steps to find academic articles about your major or career choice.

• Start by using Academic Search Ultimate (ASU)
• Enter your major or chosen career in the search box. If it is more than one word, enclose it in quotation marks. For example, "youth ministry" or "biology careers."
• Then enter to search.
• Use the filters found on the left side of the results page to limit to "Peer Reviewed," which ensures you have academic sources to choose from - part of your assignment requirements.
• Next, choose the date range, usually within the last ten years is a good range.
• Then, you may want to limit the language to English, this is an international database. 
• Click on the article title to view it. Here you'll also see options to save the article, email it, or print it. There is also a citation generator to help with APA formatting. 

Using Career Databases as a source

.Below are specific library databases that have information on careers, vocations, and job seeking. You can skip the search in ASU and jump in to search a specific career database. Here are options:

• Don't use the search box; instead, click the link to the Topic Finder under the Search Tools. 
• Enter your major or chosen career in this search box.
• Clicking on a topic wheel or tile narrows your original search results to the documents also containing that subject or term.
• Article links show on the right.
• Click on the article title to view it. Here you'll also see options to save the article, email it, or print it. There is also a citation generator to help with APA formatting.
