CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-exam program in the country.

CLEP exams are available in two categories--general examinations and subject examinations.
CLEP tests cost $80
Each exam is approximately 90 minutes in length.
CLEP exams are computer-based so results are available immediately.

What CLEP exams can you take for college credit here at Trevecca?

Five (5) general examinations are available:

College Composition (6 credit hours)
Humanities (6 credit hours)
Math (6 credit hours)
Natural Sciences (6 credit hours)
Social Sciences and History (6 credit hours)

Each general examination covers material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. Each is 90 minutes long and consists primarily of multiple-choice questions.

Thirty-three (33) CLEP subject examinations are available.

CollegeBoard CLEP
The College Board website has resources for CLEP testing. CLEP offers 33 exams in five subject areas, covering material taught in courses that you may generally take in your first two years of college. Most CLEP exams are designed to correspond to one-semester courses, although some correspond to full-year or two-year courses. There is no fee to review the sample questions. Subject areas include exam details, sample questions, and study resources. There are fees to purchase some of the study resources.
