The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. Cochrane reviews represent the highest level of evidence on which to base clinical treatment decisions. In addition to Cochrane reviews, The Cochrane Library provides other sources of reliable information, from other systematic review abstracts, technology assessments, economic evaluations and individual clinical trials - all the current evidence in one single environment.
The Cochrane Library (ISSN 1465-1858) is a collection of six databases that contain different types of high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making and a seventh database that provides information about Cochrane groups.
BioMed Central is an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher of 291 peer-reviewed open access journals. The portfolio of journals spans all areas of biology, biomedicine and medicine.
The BMC platform allows for limited searching, and users can also browse the list of journals by subject or title.
JAMA, published continuously since 1883, is an international peer-reviewed general medical journal. JAMA is the most widely circulated general medical journal in the world. Waggoner Library has access to JAMA from 1998 to the present.
Basic search functionality (searching by keyword) is available on JAMA's website. Each issue of JAMA is also browsable on the website. Articles from JAMA will come up in Discovery search results as well.
Please note that JAMA's website includes issues of JAMA and other JAMA-related publications that the library does not subscribe to. These resources can be requested from interlibrary loan.
PubMed Central® (PMC) is a free, full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). Over 3.8 million articles.

The PubMed® database contains more than 36 million citations and abstracts of biomedical literature. It does not include full-text journal articles; however, links to the full text are often present when available from other sources, such as the publisher's website or PubMed Central® (PMC).
Health and Medicine focuses on providing access to academic and professional literature in the health and medical fields. This database is the perfect resource for up-to-date information on a complete range of healthcare topics. Ethics, patient care, management, legal, and policy issues are some of the topics covered.

PubMed® is an abstracting and indexing database that includes MEDLINE and most of PubMed Central®. Abstracting and indexing means there is no full-text content. Instead, the access provided by PubMed is links to the publisher's websites and/or to PubMed Central®.
What do you do if there is no full text?
Use the library's InterLibrary Loan (ILL) service to obtain the full text of an article that is not in PubMed Central®. Never pay fees suggested by publishers to get an article reprinted. ILL is a free service for Trevecca students and faculty. Click here to learn more about ILL or make a request.
Subject content includes clinical, basic sciences, and public health. Covers medicine, nursing, allied health, biological and physical sciences, as well as humanities and information science, in their relation to medicine and health care. MEDLINE®, primarily a bibliographic database, doesn't always provide direct full-text access. However, many citations in MEDLINE® have links to the full text when it's available from other sources like PubMed Central (PMC) or the publisher's website. Coverage: 1946-Present.
