About Books

Locating book resources and the online catalog

  • Books can be located on the library Web site
  • Discovery search allows you to search for both print and eBooks.
  • Education circulating books are shelved in the "L" for Education area, second floor of the library.
  • If books are unavailable in the Waggoner collection, they may be ordered through an Interlibrary loan.
  • eBooks are integrated into our Discovery Search. Many can be downloaded to an eReader format, and there is a small collection of audiobooks available.
  • The Gale Virtual Reference Education Collection includes 71 complete titles covering a wide range of issues in education - from teaching methodology and practices to leadership and community initiatives. This is a part of the Gale Virtual Reference Collection.

eBook Tips and Usage

Waggoner eBook collections integrate over 200,000 full text eBooks into our library catalog!

  • Use the Discovery search filters to limit results to Trevecca eBooks. Filters are on the left menu of the result list.
  • After you search Discovery and view your result list, you'll know it's an eBook by the description. It states eBook.
  • Click the Access Online button to open the book.

As nice as eBooks are, they are not perfect. Restrictions exist. Copyright and Digital Rights Management (DRM) limits how they can be accessed and downloaded. The eBook LibGuide will take you through the process of viewing eBooks here at Trevecca. It will also highlight the restrictions are you likely to encounter and the best way to manage these problems. Trevecca students, faculty and staff:  you can find eBooks in these collections:

Waggoner eBook collections have options for the book to be checked out to an eReader (downloaded), or print book chapters as PDF or read it online.

The eBook research guide has detailed information about eBook collections, accounts, printing, downloading and exporting eBook content.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service we provide to currently enrolled Trevecca students and Trevecca employees. If there is material you need for your research that you cannot find at Waggoner Library, we can request it from other libraries and have them send it to us. Once the material is here you can check it out from us, use it and then return it to us, and we will take care of getting it back where it belongs! If it is an article you are looking for, it will be sent directly to your email.

Making an ILL Request

You can request items online through interlibrary loan in one of two ways:

1. Find the item in Discovery and click on its title to view the details. There will be a purple 'Request Item through Interlibrary Loan' button that you can click which will attach the item's information to your request, so that you don't have to type it out.

2. If the ILL request button for a title in Discovery is unavailable, use our online interlibrary loan form (you will need to type in the item details)

Important Notes:  Your Trevecca email and the 11-digit Campus ID number from your ID card are both required on all ILL requests. Contact the library if you do not have your 11-digit campus ID number.

If you have questions or need assistance, please call the ILL office (615-248-1548) or email us (ill@trevecca.edu)
