Need to know about an author?

You can find brief biographical articles about your author by searching in library databases. Use the library catalog for full length biographies in books (print or eBook) and even streaming video for many authors. The library databases provide access to journal articles, essays and reference sources online.

Book Sources

You can often find biographical information in the library catalog. Results found here are print books, eBooks, and streaming video. 

  • From the library homepage
  • Enter the author's name as a 'subject' search in the main search box, last name followed by their first name, e.g., Achebe, Chinua  Then press enter
  • Result list includes print books, eBooks, and streaming video. All sources are acceptable research sources
  • Review the list; click on the title for detailed description to guide your decisions
  • To find a print book, write down the call number
  • To open an e-book, click the title link and then the view link on the record page. You will be prompted to authenticate with your name and campus ID number if off campus.

Databases & Journal sources
