Waggoner Library: Checkout Policies: Doctoral Students

General Information

Trevecca students and employees can check out materials with your TNU ID. Please bring it, or another ID, when checking out materials.

The Main Collection is the books on the top floor of the library. Students can check out 20 books from the Main Collection and 15 items from the ELC. Reserve items have various limits.

Waggoner Library does not charge fines on most physical items, including books, DVDs, musical scores, etc. The item is declared lost when overdue by 30 days, and a replacement charge is assessed. The replacement charge will be removed when the item is returned.

Overdue fines are charged for interlibrary loan items and items on reserve, including books placed on reserve by faculty members, laptops, chargers, dry-erase markers, and other technology.

Some library privileges, such as checking out library items, placing holds, or using ILL, will be unavailable if you accrue $10 or more in overdue fines or material replacement fees. A hold will be placed on your account with the university, preventing registration, graduation, transcript requests, etc., when library fees and fines reach $25.

Doctoral student checkout:

Dissertations on Reserve can be checked out only by doctoral students and faculty. Limit: 2 at one time.

Loan period: 70 days (10 weeks); NO RENEWAL. Overdue fines are 50 cents per day.

Dissertations in the Reference Collection cannot be checked out.

Doctoral Study Rooms are available to doctoral students and faculty only. Check out a key to a doctoral study room at the Services Desk for 8 hours. Overdue fines are 25 cents per hour.
