Books & Music Scores

Music-related books, including composer biographies, are shelved in the 'M' category on the second floor of the library.  Waggoner Library also has print reference sources in the Music subject area, shelved in the 'M' section of the Reference area on the main floor.  Some of the material contained in these reference books may also be part of online collections such as Oxford Music Online.

You can search for all of these materials using the Discovery Search on our library website.  After you search Discovery and view your results list, you can use the filter on the left side of the page to limit to a particular format such as print books.

See the video below for a short tutorial on searching for books in Discovery Search.

Try searching the following keywords in Discovery to find books on fine arts.

  • architecture
  • art and artists
  • art and painting
  • art education
  • art history
  • Asian art
  • photography

In addition to searching Discovery, you can use these call number ranges to browse the shelves for fine arts related titles in Waggoner library.  Reference books are shelved on the main floor of the library.  Books for checkout are available in the Main and Oversize collections on the top floor of the library.

Using Discovery Search to find eBooks:

  • Begin at the library homepage
  • Enter your search terms, click on the Books icon, then the green search button
  • Use filters on your Discovery search results to limit to:
    • Library - Trevecca Nazarene University collection
    • Format - eBook
  • Results will be Trevecca-owned eBooks that are available online 24/7.

As nice as eBooks are, they are not perfect. Restrictions exist. Copyright and Digital Rights Management (DRM) limits how they can be accessed and downloaded. The eBook LibGuide will take you through the process of viewing eBooks here at Trevecca. It will also highlight the restrictions you likely encounter and the best way to manage these problems.

Waggoner Multidisciplinary eBook collections can also be searched directly in the following databases:
